Liga II Season 1996–97 ← 1995–961997–98 →The Divizia B 1996–97 season was the 57th season of Divizia B, the second tier of the Romanian football league system.
The winner of each series of the Divizia B was promoted to the Divizia A. The bottom two teams were relegated to the Divizia C.
