- Romanian football league system
The Romanian football league system is a series of interconnected leagues for club football in Romania.
tructure
At the top level of the system is Liga I, the top professional division, managed by the Liga Profesionistă de Fotbal.
The next two levels (Liga II and Liga III) are run by the Romanian Football Federation.
Liga II is divided into two parallel regional divisions. Liga III is divided into six parallel regional divisions.
Below Liga III the football leagues are managed by the 42 county football associations, including Bucharest. The football league system at this level may differ from county to county.
Clubs finishing the season at or near the top of their division may be eligible for promotion to a higher division.
Similarly, clubs finishing at or near the bottom of their division may be relegated to a lower division.
