Dinaburga Castle (Dünaburg Castle) (Vecdaugavpils (Vecpils) castle, Alt-Dünaburg) is a castle east from Daugavpils in the historical region of Latgalia, in eastern Latvia. Located on a high bank of the Daugava river in a strategic location overlooking this important medieval waterway. Castle was built circa 1273 – 1277 by the Livonian Order and destroyed by Russian troops before 1577. Nowadays there have been exposed fragments of the foundation. Tourism information centre and clay model of the castle.
