Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012
On 15 May, one day after the contest in Germany, DR announced their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, held in Baku, Azerbaijan.[1]
DR opened the submission period for sending songs until 26 September 2011 at noon. A total of 678 songs have been submitted to DR.[2] 9-10 songs will compete in the final; 6 songs will be selected in open competition among the songs submitted, while 3-4 wildcard entries will be invited on the basis of editorial considerations.[3]
The 2012 Danish Eurovision national final "Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2012" will be held at the Gigantium in Aalborg on 21 January 2012,[4] where the national finals in 1992, 2006 and 2010 have been held.[5]
At Eurovision
As Denmark is not one of the "Big Five" nations, it will compete in one of the two semi-finals on either 22 May or 24 May for a place in the Final on 26 May.
