Chris ScheffeyDeleted Scenes is an American indie rock band founded in late 2005 in Washington, D.C. by Dan Scheuerman (vocals/guitars), Matt Dowling (bass/keyboards), and Brian Hospital (drums). The band added Chris Scheffey (guitars) to the lineup in 2006. The group has drawn comparisons to The Talking Heads,[1] The Danielson Familie,[2] The Dismemberment Plan,[3] Modest Mouse [4] and Band of Horses.[5]
In April 2007, the band released their self-titled EP on D.C. label, Echelon Productions. On Jan 6, 2009, their debut LP Birdseed Shirt, produced by L. Skell and engineered by J. Robbins, was released on Brooklyn label What Delicate Recordings. The title of the record was taken from Jonathan Safran Foer's novel Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.[6]
