The school is dedicated to the memory of the late Ch. Deep Chand Ji,a great philanthropist, visionary, an ardent social worker and a freedom fighter. Situated at A-Block, Ramprastha, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, it was formally inaugurated by His Excellency Sh. Moti Lal Vohra, Ex.Governor of Uttar Pradesh. Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the school is a premier educational institution of Ghaziabad and has boarding facilities, attracting students from Bihar and the Northeast India.[1]
The motto of the school is "Work is Worship." Management of the school is the responsibility of the late Ch. Deep Chand Ji's descendants. The school's first principle was Dr. P. Kumar. A separate Junior branch was set up at D-Block, Ramprastha, Ghaziabad and was formally inaugurated by His Excellency Sh. Vishnu Kant Shastri, then Governor of Uttar Pradesh. The first principle of Junior school was Mrs. Kalyani Nath.[2]Ankur Goyal, the 2001 CBSE topper is an alumnus of this school.[3]

Activities
To promote competitive spirit within students, students are categorized in four houses, named after the mountain ranges.The names being Himadri house, Shivalik house, Aravalli house and Vindhya house. The events ranging from sports to quizzing are organized throughout the year to decide for the best house of the academic year.
Clubs
There are five Academic Clubs organized within school. These being: English Literary Club, Hindi Literary Club, Environment Club, Science Club, and Computer Club. There are also several student managed Hobby clubs within school. Some prominent clubs among these are: Arts & Crafts, Wood Craft, Dance, Vocal Music, Instrumental Band & Orchestra, Clay Modeling & Murals. Many of these clubs organize exhibitions to showcase the talent of the students. The school is also the centre of SPIC MACAY activities within the region, holding events to promote Indian culture.
Festivals
Deep Jyoti is a regular Inter School festival, organized by the school every year. Around 50 schools from National Capital Territory of Delhi participate in the event.[4] Students are given chance to show their talents in the following events: Debate, Declamation, Pottery Making, Arts & Crafts, Drawing Competition, Rangoli, Kavi Samelan, Music Vocal & Instrumental, and Dance.
