Deconbrio is an American Electronic Rock band, originating in 2000 by Danny Rendo in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Rendo, the only official member of the group, combines the use of software synthesizers, samples, effects and live instruments to create Deconbrio's sound. Though more commonly considered as an Electronic Rock band, Deconbrio's music also has bits of Goth, Rock, EBM, Powernoise, little bits of Classical, Metal and just a touch of New Wave.[1]

History

Deconbrio got its start in 2000, while Rendo was in his junior year at Piper High School. Growing a deep liking of Electronic music - most notably Nine Inch Nails - he began writing and recording his own music. Though he distributed demos independently, none of the music he had released was ever official, and were eventually discarded - save a few songs that eventually made their way onto Deconbrio's official debut album.

Seeing how the local music scene in Ft. Lauderdale was slowly diminishing, Rendo took a break from Deconbrio for a few years. Then, in 2007, he began writing new material, which became Obsessions of a False Idol.

In 2008, Deconbrio was signed to Bit Riot Records, which released their EP, The Vanishing.

In mid-2009, Rendo moved to San Francisco, California, and is finishing up production on the follow-up to The Vanishing, entitled Voyeur.

Rendo has stated that the name Deconbrio (pronounced "de-KAWN-bree-O") has no real meaning behind it, though it does somewhat derive from the musical term Con Brio, meaning to play "with spirit or with vigour". Rendo says he "wasn't sure how to pronounce 'Con Brio' at the time, but [I] thought it sounded cool with [the prefix] 'de'".
