Reception
The Dutch review website Kwadratuur rated the album 3.5 stars out of 5, concluding that Death & Legacy is a very entertaining album with undeniable craftsmanship. The album has a common thread in that each song is hung on a historical figure, performed with conviction, holding the listener's attention by their variety.[1]
Also, for the lead single The Chevalier, a beautiful music video was made. In the video, which was shoot during the winter in an old manor, in the style and fashion of 18th and 19th century, Georg is seen as he rides the black horse and carries a falcon, mixed with scenes where women with masks want to seduce him. Ailyn is then seen in a room with Georg, both looking at the mirror, and as she walks between the trees and lake in the park, and singing alone in the manor. Clips of horse and falcon are also showed, with scenes where Georg and Ailyn are sitting around the table with other band members. The video ends with Georg and Ailyn singing together outside, as the sun illuminates them.
