David Merritt (born September 8, 1971 in Raleigh, North Carolina) is a former American football linebacker and current secondary coach for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played college football at North Carolina State.

Merritt also played for the Phoenix / Arizona Cardinals and has been a coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Virginia Military Institute and for the New York Jets.
