Gibril Donald Wilson (born November 12, 1981 in Freetowncite news|url=http://www.newspress.com/Top/Article/article.jsp?Section=SPORTS&ID=565342151690813578|title=This time, new Oakland Raider Gibril Wilson wasn't overlooked|work=mercurynews.com|date=2008-07-31] , Sierra Leone) is an American football safety for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League.

Wilson (commonly known as G.B.) arrived in San Jose, California when he was 5 years old with his parents and 5 other siblings.

Although he excelled in football at both receiver and defensive back position at Oak Grove High School, he drew little attention from any Division 1 schools. He initially attended City College of San Francisco, and two years later was the top recruited junior college safety choosing Tennessee (over USC, Oregon and Florida).

He was drafted by the New York Giants in the fifth round of the 2004 NFL Draft, with whom he later won Super Bowl XLII.

In 2008, Wilson signed a six-year $39-million contract with the Oakland Raiders (one of the highest for a safety in the NFL).

Wilson is especially active with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and recently hosted a free football camp at his old high school at Oak Grove.

On his last visit to Sierra Leone in April 2008, he was named a national youth ambassador by the country's president.
