Darya Vladimirovna Domracheva (Belarusian: Дар’я Уладзіміраўна Домрачава, Russian: Да́рья Влади́мировна До́мрачева; born 3 August 1986 in Minsk) is a Belarusian biathlete who has been competing in the Biathlon World Cup since 2005. She became Junior World Champion in sprint and pursuit in 2005, and received numerous medals between 2005 and 2007. Her definite breakthrough came during the 2008/2009 season where she has earned two third places and one second place.
She is also remembered for shooting standing instead of prone under a mass start in Oberhof during the season 2008/2009, consequently withdrawing from the race.[1] Domracheva added to her fame during the same discipline in the 2009/2010 season, when she went in to shoot on range 1, but ended up firing three of her shots on the targets of range 2. Despite this Domracheva finished 9th in the race.
At the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada, she won the Bronze medal in the Women's 15 Kilometre Individual race, at the Whistler Olympic Park venue. Later in the same season, on 13 March, she won her first World Cup race in the sprint in Kontiolahti, Finland. The next day she also won the pursuit.
