Jamia Islamia Darul Uloom Hyderabad (Arabic: دارالعلوم حيدراباد‎‎) , (Urdu: دارالعلوم حيدراباد‎) is an Islamic seminary located in Hyderabad Deccan. India. It continues the tradition of the Darul uloom system initiated by Darul Uloom Deoband. It is one of the leading educational institutions in South India and considered one of the top Islamic educational institutions in India.[citation needed] It was started by the late Grand Sufi of Hyderabad Deccan, Maulana Mohammed Hameeduddin Husami Aqil in 1965. He was previously associated with Darul Uloom Deoband, Currently the Rector of Darul Uloom Hyderabad is Mufti Jamal Ur Rahman. Darul Uloom Hyderabad in short span of time has developed into a great centre of Isamic learning in southern part of India.[1]

The institution is manned by 39 scholars and staff comprising 75 members. About 550 pupils are being accommodated with boarding and lodging facilities in the main institution . About 5000 students are being taught through its (23) branches spread over in the State.

Scholars, Specialists in Islamic Dawah, Fazil and Huffaz have been engaged in various, institutions and brought laurels to the Darul Uloom, their contribution in the midst of Muslims ignorance towards religious knowledge is predominant.[2]

Library

It has avery large Library which contains historical and Islamic manucripts. The most important attraction in this library is the copy of hand written Holy Quran of Rashidun Caliph Ht Uthman ibn Affan period.
