Daft PunkDarlin' was formed in 1992 as a Beach Boys inspired group with the band members, Laurent Brancowitz, Thomas Bangalter, and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Together, Darlin' released their songs under the Duophonic record label, contained in the Shimmies In Super 8 compilation. In a review made by the British music magazine, Melody Maker, the author called the music "a bunch of daft punk." Thus after this short-lived band, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo decided to create Daft Punk in 1993. In the meantime, Brancowitz joined his younger brother Christian Mazzalai in Phoenix.
