Collaboration with Animal
While attending DePaul University in Chicago, where she earned a BFA in acting,[1] she met her first musical collaborator, Animal Prufrock, and the two formed Bitch and Animal. After Bitch and Animal released a four-song demo, Ani DiFranco took the two on tour with her and recorded an album in Buffalo, New York. Bitch and Animal went on to make two records for DiFranco's Righteous Babe Records,[2] then separated in 2004.
Since 2004
Since the split, Bitch has formed a band called Bitch and the Exciting Conclusion, originally with Daniela Sea, now with Gabriel Kubitz and Lee Free. B+TEC, in one of its forms, toured as an opening act for the Indigo Girls and solo with Shortbus co-star Jay Brannan.
Bitch continued to record solo, releasing a lo-fi album Be-Sides, one take wonders and poems while working on a larger work, a record released by Kill Rock Stars in 2006 called Make This / Break This. In 2008, Bitch started her own record label, Short Story Records, to produce the Ferron CD Boulder, and also an EP called "B+TEC=!" with her New York City-based rock band, Bitch and the Exciting Conclusion (AKA "B+TEC").
Bitch appears as an actor and musician in the 2006 film Shortbus. In 2009, Bitch acted in North Carolina Stage Company's production of the two-woman play, A Beautiful View, by Daniel MacIvor in Asheville, NC that ran from 17 June through 19 July.[3][4]
