Daniel Ward (born 17 November1981, Darlaston)[1] is a notable English amateur snooker player, with one international title (2004), who has reached the amateur World Championship final round, in 2006.

Career

A regional champ from 1999 to 2003, Ward bested both Matthew Stevens and Paul Hunter in exhibition matches while still in the under-21 division, and went on to become the 2004 Baltic Cup Champion, and represented England in the 2004 European Team Cup, both in Latvia.[1]

More recently, Ward reached the final at the 2006 IBSF World Championship in Amman, Jordan, where he was defeated in the final round, 11-8, by Kurt Maflin. He had previously beaten Pankaj Advani, Fung Kwok Wai, and then Manan Chandra in the earlier rounds.

His highest break in competition was 139, performed in the 2003 West Midlands League.[1]
