Andrew Bagg (Born June 8, 1981), better known by his stage name DJ Cobra, is one of the premier open format deejays today.

Life and career
DJ Cobra’s career was launched while attending the University of Arizona.[1] Always innovative and determined, DJ Cobra started cold-calling Record Labels and telling them he was the Hip-Hop Music Director at U of A’s radio station. This strategic move led to free concerts, cultivating relationships with artist’s managers and labels and, most importantly, free records.[2] After submitting a mix tape to the Mix Show Director and On-Air Personality at 98.3 (KOHT – commercial radio station in Tuscan), Andrew became one of the youngest DJs in the country on Commercial radio [3]! He had the #1 ratings across the board and since the station was BDS affiliated, Record Labels and Promoters were coming to him to get spins for their artists.[4] The labels recognized his abilities and marketing savvy immediately. They offered him jobs, but after much thought, DJ Cobra took a different career path. He went on to open for artists, formed a DJ crew back in LA for a period of time (again recognizing an opportunity as bottle service was blowing up and Paris Hilton was the “It” girl), went on his first tour in 2003 opening for Nelly and since then has taken the deejay performance world by storm.[5]
A solid fixture in the nightlife and party scene, DJ Cobra now holds multiple residencies in Hollywood, San Diego, Chicago and Las Vegas, and spins at some of the most popular clubs throughout the United States. With over 300 performances a year and monthly residences in multiple cities, Cobra is constantly jet setting worldwide, breaking barriers and appearing internationally more than any other open format DJ.[6] Cobra has also toured, opened for or performed with over fifty gold & platinum recording artists including: P. Diddy,[7] Prince, Ludacris, Nelly,[8] John Legend and Lady Gaga,[9] to name just a few.[10]
In the corporate and private event world, DJ Cobra continues to play some of the most notable and high profile events in the United States such as Paris Hilton’s 30th Bday party in Hollywood,[11] The Wesinstein’s Golden Globe Party,[12] Ferrari’s 458 Launch party with John Mayer, MTV BlackBerry VMA Party with NeYo, The South Beach Food and Wine Festival,[13] Aubrey Oday's All About Aubrey Launch Event,[14]Miley Cyrus’s 18th birthday party, AT&T and Fox American Idol official events, Star Magazine’s Young Hollywood Event, Hollywood Life’s Young Hollywood Awards, NASCAR Event with Danica Patrick,[15] South Park’s 200th Anniversary Event MTV’s Real World Cast Party in Las Vegas, Madonna’s Material Girl launch party with Kelly Osbourne,[16] Jamie Foxx’s NBA All Star Weekend party,[17] plus many more.
In addition to his busy club schedule, Cobra continues to push boundaries expanding his reach into other areas of entertainment. DJ Cobra toured with culinary great and host of NBC’s “Minute to Win it,” Guy Fieri,[18] in 2010 and is returning to the road with him in 2011, for a second straight tour. Cobra was the featured deejay on Good Morning America’s Oscar Special seen by over 30 million households. He also has made numerous television appearances on shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, Late Night with Carson Daly and Comics Unleashed.[19]
DJ Cobra’s brilliant branding and marketing strategies have helped his career grow at a rapid pace. However, Andrew is someone who is extremely appreciative and understands how hard an individual must work. When asked about the advice he has for people looking to break into the entertainment world, his response was simple: “At the end of the day, you must have a strong inner-confidence and goals. Don’t let anyone deter you. There will always be bumps in the road, but believe in yourself enough to keep going.[20]”
Mixtapes
DJ Cobra released his first major mixtape in 2009. This album is an eclectic mix of recognizable hits of all genres both new and old, fused together and presented in a manner that can best be described as a digital collage of pop music culture. Featuring over three hundred recognizable music samples, “iller” is one of the most elaborate compilations ever created. Since it's release in 2009, "iller" has received over 1/4 million downloads worldwide.
The album showcases over 300 samples ranging from Gucci Mane and Kid Cudi to Michael Jackson and Blue Oyster Cult and is just another example as to why his popularity continues to sky rocket. In other words, “ILLIONAIRE” continues where DJ Cobra’s debut album, “ILLER,” leaves off.
