The term D.A.N.I.C.S applies to "Delhi, Andaman Nicobar Island Civil Services", which is a prestigious service in India, mainly administering the Delhi and Union territories of India. This service is just like the state Civil Service.

Selection Criteria
For selection into DANICS, one has to qualify the Civil Services Exam, which is held every year at the notified dates. After qualifying, one can get the DANICS Officers Grade "B" posts.
Postings of DANICS Officers
Mainly after the training period, D.A.N.I.C.S officers are posted as Assistant Collector (District Administration) or Special Duty Officers, in the Departments. After doing job perfectly for a suitable time, one can get promotion into Senior Grade, where he/she can get into better posts.
Concept to DANICS
The concept of the posting of DANICS officers is also very important. They usually are similar in rank with the State Civil Services officers. Despite the fact that they are regulated by the Delhi Government on the recommendation of the respective Governor/Administrator/ Lieutenant General of that Union Territory.
