D.H.H. Lengel Middle School is located in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. It was built in 1970 and educates the students of Pottsville Area School District. It has, as of 2009, approximately 925 students enrolled. This facility offers students in grades 5-8.

The buildings structure has three floors, including a basement. One of the more important attachments to this school is Martz Hall. Martz Hall is the school district's largest gymnasium, and holds many things including basketball games and even political rallies. Martz Hall also has a pool(natatorium).

The Lengel Middle School offers numerous student activities. In addition to interscholastic athletics: basketball, football, track and field, wrestling, water polo, it offers Band, Choir, Art Club, Spanish Club, German Club, FACS Club, Relay for Life, French Club, Cheerleading, Newspaper Club, Ecology Club, as well as Spelling Bee and Envirothon Teams. The students broadcast the morning announcements via the school's building wide television system.

D.H.H Lengel Middle School annually hold an 8th prom to celebrate the leaving of the 8th graders from the middle school to the Pottsville Area High School.

The Middle School offers many subjects, but still not as many as the high school. The 5th grade curriculum includes: art, computer keyboarding, computer technology, technology education, guidance, health, library science, family and consumer science, physical education and music. 5th grade are the fresh tulips of this school. Unlike 6th-8th they may not roam throughout the school during the bell.

The curriculum for 6th grade covers the following: English, mathematics, reading, social studies, science, spelling, art, computer technology, family and consumer science, health, library science, music, physical education, and technology education. They have 9 periods with each subject taught by a different teacher. Seventh and eight grade follow the same format.
