Curuçá River is a river of Amazonas state in north-western Brazil. [1]

On August 13, 1930 the area near latitude 5° S and longitude 71.5° W experienced an unexplained explosion event with a yield estimated at between 0.1–1.0 megatonne of TNT (0.42–4.2 PJ).[2][3][4]
