It is a light yellow to light brown solid with the chemical formula C8H11ON or CH3OC6H3(CH3)NH2. It appears as white crystals. Its carcinogen category is 2, and upon heating it produces toxic fumes including nitrogen oxides. It reacts with strong oxidants and some forms of plastic, rubber, and coatings. para-Cresidine is possibly carcinogenic to humans. It boils at 235 °C, melts at 51.5 °C, and is not very soluble in water.
