Companies like Rosa Maria’s Mexican Restaurants, San Bernardino Community Hospital and Mountain High Resorts are included amongst Coyote Radio’s partnerships.

Music Leader

In 2009 MTV ranked Coyote Radio as the best internet college station in America and the third best of all stations! (MTV; Spinning Indie) The station’s exciting mix of music includes many of Southern California’s most talented and promising musical artists, such as: Noa James, 200 West, New Division, What Hands are For, Dose of Adolescence, The Maxies, Apryle Dalmacio, Soul of the River, 100 Proof, Knock Out, Hammers and Hearts and George Jauss & the Messenjahs. At Coyote Radio, the listeners know-“The Coyote howls the loudest in the nighttime.” As a result, the most talented extreme artists in Southern California can be heard from 9PM to 3AM every night!

Who's Listening

The music of Southern California and the message of CSUSB is carried to a potential audience of 200,000+ cable television viewers via San Bernardino’s channel 3, to the entire campus audience via the CSUSB/Coyote Radio website and to millions of potential other listeners due to Coyote Radio’s listing as an official iTunes-recommended college station. As an iTunes station, CSUSB is among an elite group of universities permanently featured on the hugely popular site such as; Stanford, Penn State, Yale and Columbia University. Unlike many campus stations, Coyote Radio is heard 24-hours a day.

Opportunities for Students

Coyote Radio allows students to participate in a variety of special broadcast promotions and opportunities including:

  • The production of “Lunchtime Live" : a weekly radio program, marketed by Coyote Advertising, sponsored by Mountain High resort, and hosted by CSUSB students Steven Kono and Jacob Justus. Each edition of this program is recorded and produced for television and is seen each week on KCSB TV as well as being heard live each Thursday and rebroadcast Saturdays on Coyote Radio. In addition, this program is recorded once each month for television in front of a live audience.
  • Serving as official sponsor and hosts of the Inland Empire Music Awards-on stage in front of a live audience in downtown Riverside, California.
  • Coyote Radio live-remote broadcasts and giveaways.
  • Live, on-air reports by CSUSB student journalists from various local news events.

Partnerships and Support

Coyote Radio enjoys a fruitful partnership with the Catalina Island Conservancy and Southern California Edison. The partnership maintains Coyote Radio as the home of the Isla Earth Radio Series. As part of the agreement, two CSUSB students have engaged in internships that enabled them to participate in the production of the shows. At the end of every broadcast an announcement that “This program is produced on the campus of California State University, San Bernardino” is heard.
