"Courageous" is a song by contemporary Christian band Casting Crowns. Co-written by Mark Hall and Matthew West, the song lyrically calls men to be better fathers and spiritual leaders, and takes musical influence from soft rock, adult contemporary, and alternative CCM.

"Courageous" was released as the lead single from Casting Crowns' 2011 album Come to the Well. The song has thus far peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart, No. 2 on the Hot Christian AC chart, and No. 4 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.

"Courageous" is a song with a length of three minutes and fifty-nine seconds.[2] It is set in common time and the key of F minor, with a tempo of 84 beats per minute, and has a vocal range spanning from A3-F5.[3] The song is musically a soft rock song,[4] with influences from adult contemporary and alternative CCM.[3] "Courageous" features a guitar riff that has been described as 'muscular',[5] and the song itself been described as an 'anthem'.[4]

"Courageous" is a call for men to be better fathers and spiritual leaders,[4] and to live bold and uncompromising lives in their faith.[6] The bridge of the song quotes from the Book of Micah, calling the listener to "Do justly, love mercy, walk humbly with your God".[5][6]

"Courageous" is currently active on the charts, and has peaked at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart.[7] It has also peaked at No. 2 on the Hot Christian AC chart,[8] No. 1 on the Christian AC Indicator chart,[9] No. 6 on the Christian CHR chart,[10] and No. 3 on the Soft AC/Inspirational chart.[11] It has also charted at No. 4 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.[12]

A music video was released for the single. The video, featuring clips from the movie "Courageous", interchanges between scenes from the movie and clips of the band performing in various locations in a town.
