BlackwoodCoromandel railway station is a station on the Belair railway line located in the Adelaide southern foothills suburb of Blackwood. It is 17.2 km by railway from the Adelaide Railway Station and 251 metres above sea level. The station opened in 1883 and was previously known as Brighton Parade.
The station now consists of a single platform with a covered shelter which serves trains going in both directions. Until 1995, when the Adelaide - Melbourne main line was converted to standard gauge, there were two platforms and two broad gauge tracks. Standard gauge trains now run through, without stopping at, the disused southern (former up) platform.
The train service comprises two trains an hour in each direction during the day, with additional services during peak hours, and one train an hour at night, weekends and public holidays.
A limited amount of free car parking is provided, including one space reserved for disabled parking. The two carparks have a capacity of about 150 cars, with the remainder often parking on streets surrounding the station.
Under the 'Adopt a Station' program run by TransAdelaide the station is adopted by the Blackwood Neighbourhood Watch group, who have assumed responsibility for the removal of graffiti, assisting with the landscaping of the station grounds and reporting vandalism incidents.
