Conservation and Society is a peer-reviewed scientific and social science journal, which is published on a quarterly basis. It is interdisciplinary in scope. The editor in chief is Kamaljit Bawa (University of Massachusetts).[1] The journal was established in 2003. Prior to 2005 the frequency of publication was semiannual.[2]

Conservation and Society is an open-access journal, which is published on behalf of the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment. The journal publishes articles on political ecology, human–wildlife conflicts, decentralised conservation, conservation policy, ecosystem structure and functioning, systematics, community and species ecology, behavioural ecology, landscape ecology, restoration ecology, and conservation biology.[3]
