2010: Britain's Got Talent

The band auditioned as 'Connected' on the fourth series of ITV reality show Britain's Got Talent in early 2010, along with twins Connor & Myles Ryan. For their audition, they sang "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys. While they received positive feedback from judges Piers Morgan and Amanda Holden, Simon Cowell criticized the band for looking 'out-dated' and claimed that they should not have tried to impersonate a band that are no longer relevant, and claiming that their styling during the audition, donning suits like Westlife, was actually done by their mums, after which the boys hit back. In retaliation to this, the band performed "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" to win him over. They received three yes votes from the judges. They then found out they went through to the semi finals.

In the second semi final, the band performed "No Boundaries" by Kris Allen. They received positive feedback from all three judges, and after landing in the judges vote, they were chosen by Cowell and Morgan to go through to the final.

In the final, the band performed "What About Now" by Westlife, originally by Daughtry. While they received positive comments from two of the judges, Cowell was yet again to criticize the song choice as he believed that the song did not make them 'young enough'. They eventually finished in 8th place.

After the show, the band performed on the Britain's Got Talent Live Tour, across arenas all over the UK, performing the songs "Never Forget" by Take That, "Everybody in Love" by JLS, and "Don't Stop Me Now" by Queen as part of the finale.

Post-BGT career

Split From Twins

The band performed their last gig with the twins in Tamworth in front of 20,000 people on 18 July 2010.

At the end of July, the band announced on Facebook and their website that they had split with the twins and were forming a new band.[2] Even though it's claimed that the group have never contacted the twins after the split, they insist they are still friends. The twins gave their story to the Manchester Evening News, following an article the group had given to the paper a week before. The group have yet to reveal the reason for the split from Myles and Connor.

Music career

The band are currently working with known industry professionals. They are managed by Cent Management and also work with Freedom Management in London working with singer/songwriter Tim Woodcock.

The band have finished recording their first six tracks which were first sung live in May 2011.[dated info] These are called "ReConnected", "Superhuman", "Seeing Stars", "December","Wish You Were Here" and "Stranded", and they will also be releasing short acoustic versions of these songs. They were launched on 26 May 2011 at Sound Control in Manchester. They also held another launch show on 2 June, which was filmed for a documentary and music video. They also had launch shows in Nottingham, Newcastle, Birmingham, Bristol and Bournmouth.

The band currently broadcast their own radio show, titled 'The ReConnected Show'. The show is broadcast live over the Internet weekly on UK Undiscovered, an Internet radio station of unsigned and undiscovered talent. Their first show featured the band going ghost hunting.

On the 19th September 2011, the band announced that they had been signed to RKA Records, a label which was founded by Ryan Ashmore and his friend Liam Webb. The label is part owned by Duncan Bannatyne after RKA Records appeared on the BBC's Dragon's Den.

Currently ReConnected are working on their debut single which is scheduled for release in early 2012. With a new track being selected for this release the 3 boys are constantly in and out of the studio. So far a demo has been completed and RKA Records are keen to go ahead with the track. They are also planning on shooting the music video for their debut track which is rumored to involve Reconnected fans as extra's.

Personal life

Matt is currently in Year 10 of secondary school, Harry in Year 11, and Max in his first year of college. Harry has previously starred in deleted scenes of the film Hush, and Fitzgerald has guest-starred in 2 episodes of Emmerdale. Max's mother has revealed that he was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 5.

Harry, Max and Matthew were friends within the Mondryk's Mum's theatrical academy Jigsaw entertainment. This is where, with Myles and Connor, they found their true passions for music and could give each other a boost into fame by joning as a group.[3]
