Comparative Political Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by SAGE Publications. The journal publishes methodological, theoretical, and research articles in the field of comparative politics at both the cross-national and intra-national levels.

Comparative Political Studies is abstracted and indexed in Scopus and the Social Sciences Citation Index. According to the Journal Citation Reports, its 2010 impact factor is 1.813, ranking it 11th out of 139 journals in the "Political Science" category.[1] The journal was ranked a Tier A journal for the purposes of the 2010 Excellence in Research for Australia initiative.[2]
