Wagner, 1842Holochilus sciureus, also known as the Amazonian Marsh Rat,[2] the Common Marsh Rat,[3] or simply the Marsh Rat,[1] is a rodent species from South America. It is found close to rivers in lowland tropical rainforest in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela.
