College of Technology, Pantnagar

The College of Technology is a college in Pantnagar, Udham Singh Nagar district, Uttarakhand, India. It was established under the then Uttar Pradesh Agricultural University and now called Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology. The College of Technology was established in this university in 1966.

Its ten departments offer eight B. Tech degree programs, namely Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering. The college also offers 24 postgraduate programs including a self financed MCA program.

Alumni Cell

Alumni cell, a part of Pantnagar Technology Alumni Association (P.T.A.A.) plays a vital role in bringing the alumni close to their alma-mater. It maintains a heartfelt and convivial relation between the alumni and the students by keeping them up to date about the college activities and achievements.

To nurture affable relations between the alumni and the college, Alumni Cell biannually publishes Audient, the e-Magazine on the college website which helps the alumni as well as the students to keep a track of the latest news and activities in the campus. The Alumni Cell maintains the college forum which acts as a bridge between the students and the alumni by providing a platform to share their views, queries and experiences.

To celebrate Engineer’s day in the month of September, Alumni Cell organizes its main event Samanvay-the Annual Alumni Meet. The two day event includes interactive sessions, campus tour and cultural night.

Alumni cell publishes Latitude 29-the newsletter which is christened after the geographic location of Pantnagar. It is another stride towards maintaining cordial relations with our revered alumni.

N.A.T.I.O.N.S. is an event organized by the Alumni Cell in Colosseum – the technical fest of College of Technology. Various political and social aspects of prominent countries of the world are discussed in this event. COLLOQUY-the Placement Talk is an attempt to guide the budding talents on interviews, group discussions, aptitude tests and higher studies by the final year students. In the years to come, Alumni Cell will continue to work consistently towards reuniting the College with its esteemed alumni.

LATITUDE 29

To maintain close ties with the pass outs, the Alumni Cell, Engineering and Technology Society has come up with a concise form of the college happenings in the form of newsletter “Latitude29”. Rightly named after the geographical location of Pantnagar, the biannual newsletter is an ideal mean of keeping the alumni akin to college activities that includes announcements, recent student and alumni achievements, etc. After three successful publications the next issue of the newsletter will be released soon. It has proved to be a giant leap in strengthening the alumni bond.

AUDIENT

Audient is an appreciable initiative taken by Alumni Cell to bind its alumni to the college. It is the bi-annual e-magazine of College of Technology which has proved quite useful in keeping the alumni updated with the latest happenings in the college. Fourteen issues of this magazine have already been successfully published and are available on the college website www.gbpuat-tech.ac.in.Even though our adored alumni of the College are away from their alma-mater in terms of distances, but this magazine is a suitable way to keep them close to their roots.

The alumni of Pantnagar inhabiting in different parts of the world can easily cling on to the college activities through this concise e-magazine. The alumni have always supported the students and have provided their valuable suggestions for the benefit of the future engineers through the columns of this magazine.

PANTNAGAR TECHNOLOGY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION (P.T.A.A.)

Pantnagar Technology Alumni Association (P.T.A.A.) is a society formed in 2005 by the persistent initiatives of our Ex Vice-Chancellor Dr. P.L Gautam, our Ex-dean and Late Dr. K. N. Shukla and the enthusiastic alumni of College of Technology. It is a matter of great pride that our association has successfully registered around 1,000 members at present. It is continuously involving more and more alumni from different parts of the world. It is due to the consistent efforts of the association that it has now become a registered society.

P.T.A.A. acts as a central hub for student development and alumni related activities and is a repository of all information and resources. It is an attempt to interact with the alumni and maintain the flow of information on their professional achievements. It aims to provide a comprehensive array of services and support to its students and alumni who will assist the students in their life-long career development and placement. Timely meetings and discussions are held to resolve the issues regarding the developments in the college.

Every year, P.T.A.A. organizes the alumni meet, SAMANVAY experiencing a growing interaction between the alumni and their alma-mater. This gives the alumni a chance to share their knowledge and experience about the various advancements in technical field with the future engineers. P.T.A.A. makes a commitment to maintain warm relations with the alumni keeping Pantnagar and its alumni together forever...

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL

College of Technology, a highly esteemed technical institute of Uttarakhand affiliated to Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology has acquired immense excellence and success in the field of technology since its establishment. The college has proved to be a worthy platform producing dexterous employees that occupy important technical positions worldwide. The credit behind this success is acquired by the efficient training and placement cell of the college. It has always directed its endeavor and motive towards diverse dimensions of success. It brings great honors to the college in moulding of successful placements of the students. The cell carries out an extensive task of provision of highly skilled training to its people. It also takes up the responsibility to improvise the students with all necessary requisites that might help them build a better career.

DISCUSSION FORUM

The College Forum is a platform that enables the students to discuss about the latest happenings of the college. New ideas and views regarding general and technical issues can also be shared. Queries about anything and everything related to engineering students can be posted on the forum. Students can share their views and innovative ideas and clear their doubts through the medium of this communication media. The forum provides a common platform for interaction between students and faculty. In a nutshell, one can experience a whole new e-COT through www.gbpuat-tech.ac.in/forum.
