Football career
A product of Rayo Vallecano's youth system, Coke was promoted to the first team in 2007–08, with the Madrid side in the third division. He helped the club gain promotion that year, and played 33 matches (scoring three times) in the following campaign, as Rayo overachieved for a final fifth place.
In the following two second level seasons combined, Coke only missed 11 league games out of 84 and scored 12 goals, with Rayo Vallecano promoting to La Liga in the second campaign. In June, he signed with another top division team, Sevilla FC.
