Characterized by hot and humid summers and cool winters. There are little differences in the amounts of precipitation between the summer and winter seasons.
Temperature
As in most humid subtropical climates, Charlotte experiences significant, but not wide, differences in temperature between the seasons. The coldest month of the year is January with a mean temperature of 41.7 °F (5.4 °C), while the warmest month is July with a mean temperature of 80.4 °F (26.9 °C). The coldest temperature recorded in Charlotte was −5 °F (−21 °C) while the warmest temperature was 104 °F (40 °C).
Precipitation
Charlotte's location puts it in the direct path of subtropical moisture from the Gulf of Mexico as it heads up the eastern seaboard along the jet stream, this city receives ample precipitation throughout the year but also a very large number of clear, sunny, and pleasantly warm days. On average, Charlotte receives about 43.52 in (1105.3 mm) of precipitation annually, including 5.2 inches of snow[1] and more frequent ice storms and sleet.
