view · Imperial Council were held in Cisleithania, the Austrian section of Austria-Hungary over several days in May 1907.[1] They were the first elections held under universal male suffrage, after the Becksche Wahlreform had been passed earlier in the year, which had abolished tax paying requirements for voters.[2] However, seat allocations were based on tax revenues from the States.[2] The Christian Social Party emerged as the largest bloc in Parliament, holding 96 of the 516 seats. Voter turnout was 84.6%.[3]
