(Montagu, 1803)Synonyms[2] Hyala vitrea is a species of minute sea snail, a marine gastropod mollusk or micromollusk in the family Iravadiidae.[2]
Hyala vitrea used to be considered as a species of Onoba (Rissoidae).[2] It is however made clear now that this species does not belong to the family Rissoidae but to Hyala in the family Iravadiidae.[2]

Description
The shell size varies between 1 mm and 4 mm
Distribution
It is found in European waters, in the Mediterranean Sea and in the Black Sea.
Ecology
This species is a grazer and deposit feeder.[2]
