Chulym (Russian: Чулым) is a town and the administrative center of Chulymsky District of Novosibirsk Oblast, Russia, located on the Chulym River 131 kilometers (81 mi) of Novosibirsk, the administrative center of the oblast. Population: 11,568 (2010 Census preliminary results);[1] 12,275 (2002 Census);[2] 13,703 (1989 Census).[3]

The settlement of Chulymskoye (Чулымское) was founded in 1762 during the construction of the Siberian Route. In 1898, the Trans-Siberian Railroad was built through the settlement. In 1947, Chulym was granted town status.
