- Chuanshan Archipelago
-
The Chuanshan Archipelago (川山群岛) is a group of islands in the South China Sea, just off the coast of Guangdong Province of southern China, rather nearer to the Pearl River Delta than to the Leizhou Peninsula.
Administration
Administratively the group falls wholly within the County-level city of Taishan (台山), in the municipal region of Jiangmen, Guangdong. The two largest of the islands, Shangchuan (上川) and Xiachuan (下川), are the site of two of Taishan's twenty towns (镇, zhen) (their namesakes); all other islands, islets, outcroppings and reefs in the archipelago lie within the jurisdiction of one or the other.
