He started racing in Formula Renault 2.0 in 2002, finishing 6th in the Italian championship and moving up to Italian F3 for 2003. He finished second in F3 that year, and progressed through Formula Renault V6 Eurocup in 2004 to race in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2005 and 2006.
In 2007 he switched to GT racing, running in the FIA GT Championship for Vitaphone Racing, sharing a Maserati MC12 with Miguel Ramos. In 2008 he raced a Ferrari 430 for AF Corse in the GT2 category.
