The Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC) is a United Kingdom charity which provides free legal advice and support to members of the Chinese community living in the UK. The association offers disadvantaged Chinese people free legal advice and representation on immigration and nationality law, as well as domestic violence support. In addition to providing specialised help for domestic violence victims, CIAC supports lone mothers in the Chinese community, by facilitating access to a variety of services, including housing, legal help, education and counselling.
CIAC also provides advice and support to refugees and asylum seekers on all aspects of social welfare, including accessing the National Asylum Support Service, housing, employment and education. Besides providing direct services, the organisation also undertakes information development work, supporting other people and organisations working within the wider Chinese community. The organization is based in Chinatown, London but its services extend nationally. It is run by a mix of paid workers and dedicated volunteers who speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, Shanghainese, Malay, and Fujianese.
