In 1941, the number of students increased to 170.

In 1942, at the outbreak of the Pacific War the school suspended classes.

In August 1945, the war ended. Because of the heavy damage caused by the war, the school resumed classes only in 1947.

In 1953, the school began its Senior Middle Class (Upper Secondary Student - Form 4-6) and became a complete secondary chool.

Dr. 严元章 and his philosophy towards education

In 1955, Dr. 严元章 was hired as the sixth principal for the school. Dr. 严 established a teacher classification system, student grade placement system, class hierarchy system, work-study system, and scholarships.

He introduced the idea of beautifying the environment, the creation of the "Beautify The Classroom Contest", and other extra-curricular activities. He composed the lyric part of the school song.
