Mao Chi-kuo

Mao Chi-kuo (毛治國, Hanyu Pinyin: Máo Zhìguó) serves as the Minister of Transportation and Communications in the Republic of China under the administration of President Ma Ying-jeou, since May, 2008.[1]

Mao was born in 1948, in Fenghua, Zhejiang Province, in Mainland China - the same home county and province as former ROC President Chiang Kai-shek. Mao was educated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, earning a Ph.D. in 1982. He also hold a Master of Economics degree (M.E.) from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand.[2]

Before being selected as Minister of Transportation and Communications, Mao was Dean and Professor of the College of Management at the National Chiao-Tung University(NCTU).

Mao's previous service at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications was as Vice Minister under President Lee Teng-hui from 1993-2000.
