Chi-Kuo Mao (born October 1948) is
Taiwan 'sMinister of Transportation and Communications He was appointed in May 2008 by the newKMT government.Education
Dr. Mao earned his Ph.D. from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982. He also has an M.E. from theAsian Institute of Technology , which he earned in 1975.Experience
Formerly the Dean and a Professor for the
College of Management at National Chiao-Tung University (NCTU)from 2006 to 2008. Was Chair Professor of the College of Management at NCTU (2003-2006). Served as an Advisor for theExecutive Yuan , ROC (Taiwan government)in 2003.He served as chairman of
Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. from 2000 to 2003. He was also the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC),ROCfrom 1993 to 2000. Was appointed Director General, Provisional Engineering Office of High Speed Rail, MOTC, ROC(1991-1993)Director General of the Tourism Bureau, MOTC, ROC from 1989 to 1991. Served as Secretary General, MOTC, ROC from 1987 to 1989, and was Associate Professor and Professor at NCTU, ROC from 1982 to 1987.
