Renilson is a Scottish former rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1950s, '60s and '70s who, whilst serving in the Duke of Wellington's Regiment, at club level has played rugby union (RU) for Jed-Forest RFC, and at representative level has played rugby league (RL) for Great Britain, and Commonwealth XIII, and at club level for Halifax, Newtown, and Eastern Suburbs, playing at Second-row, Loose forward/Lock, i.e. number 11 or 12, or 13, during the era of contested scrums.

Charlie Renilson represented Commonwealth XIII (RL) while at Halifax in 1965 against New Zealand at Crystal Palace National Recreation Centre, London on Wednesday 18 August 1965,[1] andwon caps for Great Britain (RL) while at Halifax in 1965 against New Zealand, in 1967 against Australia (sub), in 1968 against France (2 matches), in the 1968 Rugby League World Cup against Australia, France, and New Zealand, and in 1968 against France.[2]
