John Atkinson (rugby league)

John Atkinson was an English rugby league player for Leeds Rugby League Football Club (now known as Leeds Rhinos in the English Super League competition). His position of choice was on the left Wing. Atkinson also represented Great Britain and England on many occasions, playing in four Rugby League World Cups (1968, 1970, 1972, 1975) and scoring six tries.

Atkinson began his competitive career for Leeds in 1966 and finally hung up his boots in 1983 within these years he had amassed 401 competition tries.
