The Grey Rustic or Neglected (Xestia castanea) is a moth of the Noctuidae family. It is found from central Europe to Morocco, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan and Syria.
The wingspan is 36-42 mm. Adults are on wing between July and November depending on the location. There is one generation per year.
The larvae feed on various shrubs, including Calluna, Sarothamnus, Vaccinium and Poaceae.
