"Gypsy" in Jazz Studio album by Teddy Wilson and His Trio Released 1959 Genre Jazz Label Columbia "Gypsy" in Jazz is a jazz album released by Teddy Wilson and His Trio in 1959 on Columbia CL 1352 (mono) and CS 8160 (Stereo).[1] The album is from a once-common tradition of releasing a jazz version of hit Broadway shows, whose audience was not the hard-core jazz fan, but the casual music listener willing to broaden their horizons within a familiar context. [2] The Australian version was released in 1963 in time for the premier of Gypsy in Melbourne.[3]
