Castor is a village in the
Soke of Peterborough inEngland .Formerly in
Northamptonshire , it is now inCambridgeshire but is administered as part of theCity of Peterborough , it is four miles west of the city centre.Its
parish church (dedicated to St Kyneburgha) is notable for itsRomanesque architecture and contains notable medieval wall paintings. It is a Grade Ilisted building .It was once connected to the railway network by
Castor railway station , but this is now closed. The £9m dual-carriagewayAilsworth -Castor Bypass (part of the A47 trunk road) opened in September 1991.ee also
