Christiano Pena is a fictional character of the soap opera Os Mutantes - Caminhos do Coração. He is a mutant anti-hero with immense, extraordinary power only matched by few mutants such Valente, Tatiana and Maria Mayer. In the beginning of the show, he was introduced as a baby, but he rapidly age becoming a boy, then a teenager and now a middle aged man. It is possible that he may die of old age. He seen to be inspired in the X-Men supervillain Vulcan as they share the same behavior, tragic past and the example of a hero turning into a bloodthirsty villain. He is portrayed by Mauricio Ribeiro.

Personality

Chris is a mutant who age and mature very quickly and so his powers. He is very egotistical but never fear any enemy unless death. All of his power make him very powerful and arrogant as is very difficult to defeat him however Vava points out that may he has imense power he is not immortal but the very opposite, he ages rapdly. His mentality also ages with his phisique but his personality still of a young kid, and so his emotional side. Also, Chris has a highly-destructive hatred toward the Vampires because while they are mutants with Vampire DNA, for him, they are demons on Earth. Because his lover Marli was killed by Vlad he has a fanatic hate against vampires and destroy them regardless if they are good or evil. While other heroes doesn't kill or kill by accident or self defense, Chris will kill his enemies once he had the chance and will do so in the most sadistic way by burning them. After killing Vlad, his arch-nemesis, he continues his relentlessly and irrational hunt for the vampires since his time in life is short, he will dedicate himself destroying them until their race is exterminated. He defies society and law system for killing people and making justice with his own hands and he is hunted by the DERECOM. Chris is highly attractive making several women to fell in love with him such mermaid Yara, eletric-woman Perpetua and the DERECOM agent Aline and even the female vampire Nati. This traits make him the series Byronic hero.

Ouline

Chris after some weeks he was born he began aging more faster he was 8 months old in 8 weeks. Some days later he was alredy a little child and began developing his psicokinetic ability. Because of the danger of his power he would be sent to the Arraial Island with a nurse called Marli to make him company. He was alredy a teenager in the Islandy and he developed a sweetheart relationship with Marli and later will blossom into love. However, one day, they split up and she was attacked by a mutant vampire called Vlad and he bit and bleed her dry. Chris found her body and weep on her and then he vow to find the vampire who killed her even if have to cut the Earth in half to destroy him and he evolved from teenager to a full grow man.Chris make a friendship with a young werewolf called Vava and later enconter the boy's father, the werewolf Pachola, who Chris mistook with a vampire and almost killed him. The three ended up incarcerated in the lab and with help of the fellows werewolfs, Cesar Rubicão e Vagabond they escaped but only Chris, Pachola and Vava make out with their lives.

Romance and Vengeance

Chris would fell in love with a mutant mermaid called Yara and he promised he would protect her from harm and also lost his virginity with her. Later a vampire called Dino attacked the couple but Chris toasted him to crisp and become the first vampire victim of the now self-proclaimed vampire hunter Chris. They would later confront Vlad and Fury, when Chris asked Vlad if he killed Marli, Vlad say'd yes and then Chris freak out of control and suspended Vlad in the air and begun torturing him and make Fury watch caught in a force field but they were interrupted by a Velociraptor.Eventually, Chris and Yara breakup when she needed to return to the sea and then he came across Perpetua and began a relationship with her only to be interrupted by Yara and the two girls fight over him until Chris choose over Yara when Ice-Man froze her and was later killed by the vengeful vampire hunter.

Hunt for the vampire Vlad

Chris began to age again and this time he evolved to a middle age man and his powers are enhaced to a higher level. He summoned a ship to bring he, Yara, Vava and his father Pachola to the continent but he summoned instead a DERECOM ship and the agents arrested the group and they are taken to Fredo Cavalcanti, the organization's human fascist field leader. Chris manage to escape taking Vava and Pachola with him and he later reencounter with his beloved Yara. They use a abandoned house to hide themselves and to pursue Vlad who also came to the continent but the vampire hunter were attacked by The Vampire King Dracula and his loyal lieutenants. After killing some vampire bandits, Dracula offered alliance with Vlad to kill Chris and making Yara his vampire bride. They tried to shoot him while he sleep and Chris wake up and burnt Vlado in to dust and ashes. Yara would go to the sea since she cannot stand violence but she was the only thing keeping Chris at bay. Without her, he began killing any vampire who appear at his sight. When a old friend of Chris, Teofilo was about to be fed from three seductive and highly attractive female vampire but Chris killed them regarless. Them he would hunt a female vampire, Nati, but she she was a benevolent vampire herself and never killed anybody to drink blood but he will kill her to prevent her from losing control and attack somebody. He fought with Nati's human lover, Valente who possessed the same powers of Chri's. He tried to incinerate her but Nati prove to be the most agile vampire he ever encontered to evade his rays and then he was captured by DERECOM. He manage to escape and lure Nati to kill her but he feels the kindness in her heart and let her live. Its possible Chris will fall in love with Nati, being the first vampire he ever love but it was not conformed. He invaded a vampire party and killed several vampires

Powers and abilities

Chris is alone the most powerful of all mutants in "Caminhos do Coracão". He can do anything with his mind, generate fire, light rays, desintegrate rays, and he can move anything with his mind, launch psyckic attackes, sound waves and control the weather. He often kill vampires by burning them alive using pyrokinesis. He can even control matter and create objets out of nothingness. However he is not invencible, though, he can die much like a human but as his powers grows, he phisical appearance and mentality also growns he gets old more quickly than humans do. Its unknow if this process will be stopped or delayed.

*Pretended victim, he pursues her because she was Vlado's wife and now widow. He gave up when she was cured. She is the first vampire victim which he gave up to pursue.
