José da Silva Valente or simply called Valiant ("Valente" in original portuguese) is the main protagonist of the soap-opera Os Mutantes - Caminhos do Coração. He is one of the most powerful mutants in the series but he is amnesiac and he must recover his own identity to save the world. His character is inspired in the Heroes protagonist Peter Petrelli, having several superhuman abilities but lost the memories of his previous self and is destined to save the world. He is portrayed by Marcos Pitombo

Personality

Valiant is the good counterpart for the violent and impulsive Christiano Pena; Valiant is a kind, selfless and loving young man who always think before acts while Chris act by pure hatred towards his enemies killing them at firs sight. Valiant use his powers to disable his opponent. He shows pity towards mutants vampires and he fell in love with a female vampire called Nati and he protect her with his life he even stood up to Chris and almost defeated him. No matter how difficult to him to be with the woman he loves because of her bloodlusting and urge to bite him and apparently turning him into a vampire, he loves her incondittionaly and will not let any harm happen to her.

Powers and abilities

Valiant shows no superhuman powers at the very beggining of the second season but during his fight with the vampire hunter Chris, he show being able to move objetcs with mental power by breaking Chris' force field.Later, Chris tried to kill him but Valiant lift him in the air using telekinesis and struck Chris with his bare hands with immense force, concliding he has super strength. Valiant survives the explosion of a car by Chris and is shot down by the DERECOM agent Fredo Cavalcantti healing from injuries that would have killed any human.
