Chandwa, is a small town, a block in Latehar district, in Indian state of Jharkhand. It is located around 75 km from Ranchi, the state capital. It is surrounded by picturesque scenery and is well known for bauxite and coal mines. It is a mineral rich place like most of Jharkhand.

Education

Hindi is the main language used in Chandwa. There is a SS HIgh school and other government schools.

Economy

Recently there have been news of some companies like Essar, Birla and Mittal steel setting up some small projects around. Recently Abhijit group is setting up a power project in "Chakla", 5 km away from here.

Places of interest

Chandwa is also famous for its "Ma Nagar Bahagwati" temple, situated in "Nagar", 8 km away from Chandwa in Chandwa-Chatara main road.
