Solyndra

Solyndra

Solyndra is one of the five major thin-film solar-cell companies. It has received $600 million in venture capital to develop its cylindrical solar cells.

The solar panels developed by the company are unique, in that the panels are made of racks of cylindrical tubes, as opposed to traditional flat panels. [http://blog.wired.com/wiredscience/2008/10/thin-film-solar.html]
