Christian Benteke (born 3 December 1990 in Kinshasa) is a Congolese-Belgian football player, he currently plays for K.R.C. Genk.

Career

He transferred in September 2007 at the age of 16 from Standard Liège to K.R.C. Genk,[1] in the season 2007/2008 played 251 minutes, after two year by K.R.C. Genk, turned back to Standard Liège.[2] On 7 August 2008 KV Kortrijk have signed the forward on loan from Standard Liege for one season.[3] On 1 September 2010, KV Mechelen signed Christian Benteke on loan from Standard Liege for one season as part of the transfer of Aloys Nong, who moved from KV Mechelen to Standard Liège.

International

He was member for the Belgium U-17 team at 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Korea Republic where he played 3 games and scored 1 goal.[4]

On 19 May 2010 he made his début for the national team in a friendly match against Bulgaria in Brussels after his former coach at Kortrijk, Georges Leekens, became national coach.
