Josefa Salas Mateo

Josefa Salas Mateo (July 14, 1860 – February 27, 1973) was a Spanish supercentenarian and the verified oldest recognized living person for 3 years 47 days, between the death of 111-year-old Ada Roe on January 11, 1970, until Mateo's death aged 112 years 228 days. Mateo was succeeded in title by then 111-year-old Alice Stevenson. Mateo was the first verified Spanish supercentenarian, and also the first verified person documented to die aged 112. Mateo is still the only Spanish person ever to die aged 112. Mateo was the last person to become the oldest living person before becoming a supercentenarian, as she became the world's oldest person at 'just' 109, or 109 years 181 days to be exact. Mateo was also the last recognized surviving person documented as born in 1860 and the fourth oldest Spanish person ever (she was the oldest Spanish person ever at the time of her death, but her record was broken by Maria del Carmen on June 13, 1996).

Telesflora Torre-Mendizibal

Telesflora Torre-Mendizibal (January 5, 1876 – October 8, 1986) was a Spanish supercentenarian, the second person from Spain to became a supercentenarian, after Josefa Salas Mateo (July 14, 1860 – February 27, 1973). Torre-Mendizibal was the oldest living Spanish person at the time of her death aged 110 years 276 days.

Aurelio Diaz

Aurelio Diaz (October 16, 1878 – June 13, 1989) was a Spanish supercentenarian and Spain's oldest recognized living person when he died at age 110 years 240 days. He was also the first male Spanish supercentenarian, and therefore the oldest ever male Spanish person at one point; as well as the third person from Spain to become a supercentenarian, after Josefa Salas Mateo (July 14, 1860 – February 27, 1973) and Telesflora Torre-Mendizibal (January 5, 1876 – October 8, 1986).

Galo Leoz-Ortin

Galo Leoz-Ortin (April 22, 1879 – January 23, 1990) was a Spanish supercentenarian and Spain's oldest recognized living person when he died aged 110 years 276 days. He became Spain's oldest recognized male ever when he surpassed Aurelio Diaz. Leoz-Ortin's record was surpassed in 1998 by Antonio Urrea-Hernández (February 16, 1888 – November 15, 1999), who lived to the age of 111 years 272 days.

Maria del Carmen

Maria del Carmen Figueiroa Freiria de Salgueiro (October 28, 1883 – May 25, 1997) was a Spanish supercentenarian and the oldest recognized living Spanish person at the time of her death aged 113 years 209 days. She became the oldest undisputed person in the history of Spain in 1996, after surpassing the age of Josefa Salas Mateo. Carmen's record was broken in 2003 by Joan Riudavets.

As of September 2008, Carmen is listed as one of the 100 longest lived people ever.

Pablo Roy Morales

Pablo Roy Morales (January 15, 1884 – January 26, 1994) was a Spanish supercentenarian who was the second oldest living person in Spain, behind Maria del Carmen. Morales was still the oldest living male in Spain.

Antonio Urrea-Hernández

Antonio Urrea-Hernández (February 16, 1888 – November 15, 1999) was a Spanish supercentenarian and the world's oldest recognized living man between the death of Japan's Denzo Ishizaki on April 29, 1999 and Urrea-Hernández's death aged 111 years 272 days. He was succeeded in title by then 111-year-old John Painter. He was also Spain's oldest person between May 25, 1997, with the death of fellow 113-year-old Maria del Carmen Figueiroa Freiria de Salgueiro, until Hernández's death. He was succeeded in that tile by then 109-year-old Joan Riudavets. At the time of Urrea-Hernández's death, he was the oldest Spanish male on record, until surpassed by Riudavets.

Joan Riudavets

Joan Riudavets-Moll (December 15, 1889 – March 5, 2004) was a Spanish supercentenarian. He became the oldest Spanish person following the death of 111-year-old Antonio Urrea-Hernández on November 15, 1999, the oldest European following the death of 113-year-old Italian Maria Teresa Fumarola Ligorio on May 14, 2003 and the world's oldest man following the death of 114-year-old Yukichi Chuganji on September 28, 2003. [http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/3321315.stm] He was the last recognized surviving man as verified as born in the 1880s and became the oldest Spanish person on record after surpassing the age of Maria del Carmen (October 28, 1883 – May 25, 1997, 113 years 209 days) in 2003. Riudavets still holds this record today. Riudavets died at age 114 years 81 days.

Very uncommon for a supercentenarian, he was able to walk by himself and ride a bicycle until he was 114 years old, and was survived by two younger brothers. Josep celebrated his 101st birthday in January 2008, and Pere died in 2006, aged 105, the oldest living resident on the island at the time of his death.

As of September 2008, Riudavets is listed as one of the 70 longest lived people ever.

Dolores Gou Andreu

Dolores Gou Andreu (March 27, 1892 – November 20, 2002) was a Spanish supercentenarian who became the second oldest living Spanish person, behind Joan Riudavets. Gou Andreu was still the oldest living female Spanish person. She died at age 110 years 238 days.

Isacia Díez Mariscal

Isacia Díez Mariscal (April 21, 1895 – June 2, 2005) was a Spanish supercentenarian and became the oldest living person in Spain following the death of 114-year-old Joan Riudavets on March 5, 2004, until Díez Mariscal's death aged 110 years 42 days. She was succeeded in title by then 109-year-old Manuela Fernández-Fojaco.

Manuela Fernández-Fojaco

Manuela Fernández-Fojaco (born June 18, 1895) is a Spanish supercentenarian and, at age 113, the oldest living recognized Spanish person following the death of 110-year-old Isacia Díez Mariscal on June 2, 2005, when Fernández-Fojaco was age 109 years 349 days. Fernández-Fojaco is also the eighth oldest living person and the last surviving documented recognized European born in 1895, and also is the second oldest European behind Portuguese woman Maria de Jesus.

María de la O Soria-Berbel

María de la O Soria-Berbel (born April 9, 1898) is a Spanish supercentenarian and currently, at age 110, the second oldest recognized Spanish person, behind 113-year-old Manuela Fernández-Fojaco. Soria-Berbel is also one of two verified Spanish supercentenarians, the other being Fernández-Fojaco.
